A friend and I did the Sydney Secret Bar Tour on 9 October 2026, and it was fantastic from start to finish!

Our tour guide, Claudia, was absolutely amazing. She took us two non-locals to some super fun and unique Sydney venues that we would never have discovered on our own. Along the way, she shared her outstanding knowledge of Sydney’s CBD, adding so much to the experience and making the tour even more enjoyable.

The venues were great, the atmosphere was fantastic, and Claudia’s enthusiasm and knowledge really made the tour special.

I would highly recommend the Sydney Secret Bar Tour to anyone looking for a fun way to explore Sydney, and if you’re lucky enough to get Claudia as your guide, you’re in for an even better experience!

We had a private group who took the Chinatown street food walking tour. Had a fantastic walking tour with Justin and their trainee Joyce, and was really impressed with their knowledge of both food and Asian-Australian history, their deep links to the community, and commitment to sharing the stories of multicultural Australia. Also, the food was authentic and YUM, and I never would have found those places myself, nor known what to order. Thanks for a great tour!

We were a group of inner west locals and completed the small bar tour around Newtown with Justin. We had a great afternoon discovering the history behind local street art, bars, and eateries. The quick stop at the Cairo takeaway was a winner!

Despite being locals, we were surprised with how much we didn’t know about our local area, as well as discovering hip new bars and drinks – Bring on the pickle back!

Justin was the perfect host – a wealth of information, we were also provided recommendations for our next kid free night!

Today, we had a tour with Matt. A guide with a story. Every kind of food has a story and a history and this made the tour very nice. We know now how to eat Vegimite or why pie is so popular. The local history, from long ago or more recent, was always a plus to the story of the food.

Lots of food from coffee, vegemite on toast, toasties, cake, meat pie, sampler platter, cookies. Even got a lesson on how to use the tram.

Great tour with Jake around the Sydney CBD! As a tour guide myself too I can say he’s very well informed, has very good communication skills and makes the tour fun in a very genuine and friendly way while talking about a lot of interesting history about the indigenous aboriginal tribes, the british settlers, and the develpment of Sydney along the last 3 centuries. Even though we’ve lived in Australia for basically our whole lives, we learned so much about the history, culture and stories of the area that we had absolutely no idea about. The tour was the perfect mix of fascinating history, great conversation and, of course, AMAZING food. We tried some delicious dishes, discovered places we probably would have walked right past, and came away seeing Chinatown in a completely different way. Jake was a great host. Knowledgeable, friendly, and a pleasure to spend the time with. We had a small group, and that made it all the better. We had the opportunity to sample a variety of Sydney goods, and they were all worth trying. To that add a good walk and a history tour and you have the experience. Highly recommended

Matt was great, and the food was interesting.

Very personable and knowledgeable guide, led our small group around a variety of eateries. Plenty to eat, just the right amount of historical background, and a good mix of street food, local produce and finer dining samples. The strawberry and watermelon cake was the highlight for me!

We loved the ultimate walking tour we did with Andrew and Local Sauce. Andrew was extremely knowledgeable about NSW political and cultural history, shared the fascinating city lore, patiently answered our questions, showed us great photo spots, and just made it a fun day. We highly recommend this tour.

Great tour! Just right amount of information and breaks at the right places

Our guide, Jake, really made this Sydney walking tour fantastic! His deep knowledge of both its history and current culture made it so interesting. He was super approachable and had answers for all our questions. In just three hours, we explored a lot of historical sites and hidden gems we never would have found alone. Jake even provided visuals and a small treat to help us imagine what life was like back then. The walk itself was quite relaxing, and we had ample opportunities for bathroom breaks. We wrapped up the tour with a refreshing drink at a pub, which was the perfect ending to a wonderful tour!

This walking tour was a perfect start to the trip after first getting there. Matt was so much fun. He is very informative and made the tour very engaging with games, fun facts, quiz questions. He was understanding and patient when I was running late after arriving into Sydney late! I would do this again. Highly recommend!! A very nice and welcoming person!

Listen – Jake took us through an excellent tour of 4 bars in Sydney near the quay. Jovial fella that made the party feel at ease. We started off as 8 strangers but by the end all got to share a laugh and a good drink which is what it’s about. Great host and solid storytelling along the way.

The tour was great. More in part, due to our guide, Steve. He was very informative and entertaining. His historical knowledge established deeper context to the food history and associated changes in Australia’s development. Kept us engaged and interactive.

The Ultimate Aussie Food Tour was amazing. It was fun, informative, and delicious. Our guide, Matt, was wonderful. He brought us to some iconic and some unusual (but memorable) Sydney food locations, but also told us great stories at each stop and on the way to each place. Our bellies and our minds were full! I highly recommend this tour to try some foods you might not on your own and to learn a bit about the history of Australia. So much fun!!

Have been on nearly all the tours this company offers as I’ve recently moved back to Sydney after many years away. A great way to explore many hidden gems of bars in a wonderful city and love meeting new people along the way. Highly recommend. Ive been to quite a few of these as a solo participant and loved it. This time a brough an out of town friend and she loved it too.

If you’re co sundering it, BOOK this tour! It was fantastic. Our guide (Steve?) was great. Competent and personable and funny. We had a group of five, which was a perfect size to interact with each other. The sights and pictures were priceless.

Love getting to know the history of Brisbane

This was such a fun bar crawl. We got to go to some cool places that I never would have noticed just walking down the street. Highly recommend if you’re visiting Sydney.

Absolutely amazing experience! Excellent atmosphere, loads of interesting information. Our tour guide Justin did an incredible job making everyone feel welcome. All the hidden bars we visited you would never find on your own or bare minimum oversee when walking by. If you only had one thing to do in Sydney this is hands down the best experience. This was an excellent varied tour with Ryan. He had a historical angle with people and places which wove a coherent and chronological thread relating the story of Brisbane. We also had insights into contemporary Brisbane: street art and eateries etc. Ryan was very generous and considerate with his time and we enjoyed exchanging experiences and ideas over a drink in a vibrant riverside bar.

Lovely tour with Matt, visited three phases of Sydney’s history. Matt is funny, knowledgeable, and a great guide.

Teresa and Nicole were great guides. 3 hours sounded like a long time but it flew by. Lots of valuable information. They both were knowledgeable about the history. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who’ll keen on learning more about Brisbane.

Roger was a pleasure as a guide. He kept us informed, entertained and together. The pace was leisurely but you felt like you were getting exposed to enough that it kept you intrigued about what was coming next. The food was excellent and diverse as well as the stories and history. I love that you get a little bingo card with recommendations on it at the end. A nice touch and helpful for a solo traveler like myself to be able to pick out my next meal! Overall, a great experience and if I had more time I’d take a different tour from this company.

Stellar tour! There were nine of us along with our guide, Andrew. The tour took us all over the CBD and really helped me get oriented to the city. Andrew was very friendly and kept the group moving at a perfect pace (not too slow or too fast). The information he had to share was all very interesting and helped me gain some insights into Australia’s history and culture. Andrew was happy to chat and answer questions throughout the tour. We had a perfect ending of the tour sharing a drink down at the Harbour. This gave us a chance to rest, learn more about each other, and to get final questions answered. A perfect tour! Excellent value. I’ll definitely be looking out for more tours from Local Sauce in Sydney and Brisbane.

This was a fascinating, off the beaten path tour. The food was delicious and I’d recommend it highly to folks who are interested in an aspect of the Australian experience that is not necessarily a part of every tour package itinerary. My kids enjoyed and tried quite a few new foods they never would have otherwise. Thank you!
