Although we are Sydney residents, this tour which was a gift from our daughters was great: very interesting and informative and Roger our host was brilliant. His presentation on the history of Chinatown and of Chinese immigration was very enlightening and the street food stops with the accompanying commentary on the great variety of Chinese cuisine was a hit.
A well spent couple of hours.

We did the Sydney walking tour with Steve. He was so incredibly knowledgeable and funny giving us lots of historical and little known facts. We saw so many highlights of the city that we recommend doing this on your first day to get a good taste of it all and then you can go back to explore more on your own. Highly recommend this tour!

I did two tours with Local Sauce while in Sydney – a bar tour and the Ultimate Foodie tour. Both gave insights I otherwise wouldn’t have gathered as a solo traveller and the people on the tour were also a fun bunch. I also appreciated that Justin was readily contactable and approachable – I had booked my tours quite last minute and his quick responses definitely helped!

Lastly, Steve who took my Ultimate Foodie tour was such a fun, insightful guide. His jokes also definitely helped make the morning tour a lot less static. (Plus points are that their morning tours also start at 11am which is very doable for me on a holiday – who needs 9am starts??)

Our group of 9 women did the Newtown tour. Our guide Steve was amazing & very knowledgeable about the area. All of the food choices were great.I would definitely recommend this tour when visiting sydney.

Taking the walking tour was a good decision for me! It made me figure out the place and identify which places to go visit after (not all will fit my time!).

Matt, our tour guide, was funny and energetic. Helped make us feel like the tour was less than 4 hours!

Enjoyed the tour conducted by Eddie very much! Eddie was entertaining, humourous, and did well with helping the group break the ice, which I thought was really important for such a tour. Would recommend and would definitely try out the other tours they conduct 🙂

Excellent tour. Our guide, Steve, was exceptional. Knew his history and was really funny. I thoroughly enjoyed the walk around the city and learning about how special Sydney is. We even got to see a kookaburra in the botanic garden.

Excellent experience with the team from Local Sauce. I was the only one signed up for the tour and they kindly don’t cancel for a solo traveler (though Justin did reach out ahead of time to see if I wanted to keep the tour as is, flex the date, or join a different experience). Steve was a great tour guide and I truly enjoyed our conversation. I learned a lot about the founding and early history of Sydney, life today, and learned some new dad jokes to take home with me.

The food tour was so much fun! Eddie walked us throughout the downtown area and showed us a lot of the local “hot spots”. We loved the different foods and learned about how they developed for the area. I would definitely recommend to visitors who want to experience the local cuisine as well as learn about some of the history of Sydney!

Good quality bars, nice vibe and flow

A great experience and highly recommended for locals and visitors alike. I was fascinated by the history of the Chinese people role in the great gold rush, their contribution to both world wars, and the heavy handed approach of governments to hinder their migration to Australia.

Steve was the best guide! He shared the history of Australia as we toured the city. The tour had the right balance of old and new areas of the city. Steve was knowledgeable and funny. He gave great advice on other things to see and do after the tour.

We had an amazing morning touring Sydney with Steve. We were lucky to have a private tour, amazing weather and it was just perfect. Steve’s knowledge of Sydney is impressive, he’s very engaging and easy to listen to and he covered all the highlights of the downtown Sydney area as well as recommending other parts of the city we could explore. I would definitely recommend this tour, especially if you’re visiting Sydney for the first time.

Roger gave us a great insight into the history of China Town in the broader Sidney context. We tasted fabulous foods and discovered hidden eateries.

I happened to be the only person on the tour, but it was an informative tour. Justin was my guide, and he did a wonderful job! Our host Richard was engaging and energetic and took us through some interesting facts about Chinese history in Sydney I never knew about.

Die Tour war zwar mit 3,5 h sehr lang und man sollte sich bewusst sein, dass man viel laufen wird, aber für die unterschiedlichen Einblicke war es das auf jeden Fall Wert. Tour was good overall. Felt it could have been more structured in terms of heating the story of Brisbane in chronological order. It felt a bit random. However, our guide Tom was really nice and friendly and had a wealth of information to share.

We especially appreciated the small details, such as Matt remembering everyone’s names and taking the time to engage with each person individually.
