We took the tour hosted by Mitch, and it was wonderful! The bars were great, and it’s a really good crash course on some of the interesting places that are off the beaten track. Our group was a little larger than I expected, but it had a diverse mix of people and it was good company. Our guide, Mitch, was superb. There was history, stories, even current affairs woven into the conversation, and he was warm and personable.

We had a fantastic time on this tour! Justin was a great host and it was a perfect introduction to Sydney. Highly recommended for anyone looking to understand more about the city.

I swear we covered all the important parts of the Sydney—from Circular Quay through the business and retail districts, along Macquarie Street to Hyde Park and then back through easy-to-miss laneways. Along the way, our knowledgeable, wry guide, Justin, shared insights and personal recommendations. A perfect way to get your bearings in Sydney! Highlights included an Aboriginal-owned bakery, Sydney Hospital, Sydney’s least-accurate statue, and street art. We ended up at a microbrewery on the waterfront staring at the Sydney Harbour Bridge and drinking a local pale ale. Perfect. Small group, smart guide, big adventure. Don’t miss this one!

Michael was so knowledgeable and passionate about bout the area and his career. There were many interesting geographical topics brought up within our group and he was able to navigate each one with ease. It was important that I went on a tour that gave a history to all aspects of Sydney/Australia so I appreciated how he was able to incorporate a little of everything and customize the experience based on our audience.

Mitch was a wonderful host. We learned a lot about the history of sydney and got to enjoy some really unique places and drinks

A brilliant tour. Our host, Ed, grew up in Chinatown (his parents owned a Chinese restaurant there when he was growing up) so he knows the place intimately. The tour combined food and social history and Ed made it entertaining as well as informative. We learned about the various Chinese communities who have made Sydney their home since Australia’s inception. Some of the historical detail about immigration restrictions was quite sobering, it must be said, and having Ed’s insight was invaluable. I learned a lot. The food was well chosen and gave a proper ‘flavour’ of the vast range of food available in Chinatown, from Shanghai to Xinjiang. Couldn’t be bettered.

Ahead of our trip to Australia, I spent a lot of time sifting through walking tour reviews before deciding on the Ultimate Sydney Walking tour with Local Sauce Tour, and we have absolutely no regrets. Our tour guide was Justin who, right from the start , had us hooked with his local knowledge and with his enthusiastic and engaging delivery. I particularly like the way that the stops along the way were organised to lead us through the history of Sydney from colonisation through to modern day. Who would have though that a walking tour with a history lesson could be so much fun! So in summary, an outstanding tour from an outstanding tour guide. Look no further!

An excellent tour of Sydney. Lots of historical information was shared plus interesting stories about the streets and buildings. Justin and Dan answered lots of questions and it felt like a persondd as listed tour.

I’ve done walking tours in many cities around the world and I have to say the tour I took with Justin and Local Sauce was absolutely one of the best of any city. Highly informative, I learned a lot about Australian history and culture. It also was very well organized, following an easy to understand chronological set of stories while walking from site to site. Just the right mix of walking and stories. It covered a lot of ground in the three hours, wrapping up on the waterfront in the Rocks. I highly recommend this tour, it was one of the true highlights of my trip to Sydney!

I signed up for the Ultimate Sydney Walking Tour as my first activity the morning I arrived in Sydney. It was a great overview of the city. Justin was a great guide- he kept us moving while explaining quite a bit of the history and culture around the downtown area, and he provided some good tips on what else to see and where to eat. Highly recommended.

As a solo traveler, I was nervous before the event, but wanted to do something, to remember my first day in Australia. Note, I had set in my mind to leave the event early, but Mitch was so inviting, and protective of his participants that he helped me relax and loose my fear of being in a big city all by myself. All of the sudden, I felt like – I was not alone; like e.g. I belonged to a group, part of the team, had friends, wasn’t solo He made sure we were all inclusive, and intrigued us with the stories and history of each fun place/pub/bar he studied and took us to. At the end of our alloted time, those who wanted to stay on, did so, but he had committed to ensure my safe passage back to the train station, so he escorted me safely there. A great way to spend an afternoon. I live in Sydney, but Newtown is not a suburb I usually go to, so it was great to see it with a local guide who knew all the best street art and where to eat. She shared plenty of local stories with us too.
I’d say the tour is more about the art than the food, but the combination worked really well.

We have been to Sydney before but never did a walking tour. I wish we had. Justin did an excellent job of weaving together the history with sightseeing and recommendations on places you should eat and drink. We now know the city so much better and know where we want to get next. Thanks Justin!

We really enjoyed our tour with Justin and Daniel! We liked the style of the tour which encompassed a variety of information about Sidney such as some Aboriginal stories/history, arrival of Dutch/British explorers, early settlement, historical buildings/architecture/preservation and historical figures who played a major role in the development of Sidney. In the process we learned where to eat, shop, and enjoy a beverage!

If you like unique experiences, street art and a wide range of foods, this tour is for you. Newtown is old Sydney, a bit grungy/artsy with cool restaurants & eateries with lots of street art & graffiti. We inadvertently had our tour on Easter Sunday and Justin did a great pivoting with different restaurants for us to try that were open. Some better than others but all were very tasty. It’s a very different tour than the usual tourist walking tour. If you are interested is a neighborhood you probably would not visit on your own, this is it. Enjoy the adventure!

We had a wonderful time. Bunny, our guide, is absolutely adorable and very food & history knowledgeable. Plenty of food to try. There’s a lot of walking, but a great to explore the area and see restaurants that most likely you would never go to. This tour is a great introduction to China Town!

What a great way to experience Sydney’s rich Chinese community and culinary history. We thoroughly enjoyed learning and eating and Bunny’s infectious energy and passion really shines through and really made this tour a memorable one. We’ll be sure to checkout other tours on our next trip!

This tour was fantastic. Our guide Justin was a great story teller. He showed us historical buildings and explained Australia’s history with respect and knowledge We got to see the iconic new structures across the harbor such as the Opera House and Bridge. He supplied a welcome beer/cider at the end. It was 3 hours of walking so make sure you can handle that. We did well and loved every minute.

It was a super informative and insightful tour of Sydney. I learned so much history within a few hours. Justin did an excellent job of narrating how each location leads to the next part of history. I highly recommend this tour for anyone who has a few hours to spare and wants to learn more about the history of Sydney.

The guided tour of Sydney led by Michael was amazing.
He was friendly and incredibly informative. Starting at Customs House, we learned about Sydney’s colonization and its impact on the indigenous Cadigal people. Michael provided diverse perspectives on Sydney’s development, making the tour perfect for newcomers and locals alike. Highly recommend for a deeper understanding of Sydney’s history and culture.

Do not miss this tour if you enjoy street art, great food and drink in a bohemian neighborhood that has everything! Our guide, Robyn, was very knowledgeable and we had a great time!

Aussie You’s Secret Bar Crawl covering the Darlinghurst and Surry Hills neighborhoods was easily the highlight of my time in Sydney! Justin took us to some really unique places and made sure that everyone in the group connected well that most of us chose to continue our night after the tour was completed. 5 out of 5 stars. Joined the hidden bar tour after finding a flyer for AussieYou Tours in the hostel I was staying. Tour was great, got to see a completely different bar scene that you would just not find from google searches or normal research methods. Pretty sure that most Sydney residents would not be aware of some of the bars we went to. Justin was a fantastic host, as well as taking the group around cool bars he kept the group entertained with interesting history on Sydney and teaching us Aussie Slang. Would recommend this tour for anybody visiting Sydney and for Sydney residents who want to see a side to the city they might not have been before.

I went on Justin’s secret city bar crawl tour in Sydney with a friend. We had such an amazing time that we had to book the secret Surry Hills bar crawl as well! Both nights were exceptional and Justin is a really good host! The bars we went to were really cool and I definitely would not of stumbled across them!! I really do recommend going on these tours if you are in Sydney, you won’t be disappointed!
