Although I’m a local and I’ve visited Chinatown many times before, I was really surprised how much I learned about the district’s history and the legacy of Chinese migrants in Australia, especially during the gold rush era and their contribution during wartime. Our host, Justin, was a wonderful storyteller—he struck the perfect balance between sharing fascinating stories and leading us to some truly delicious food tastings. We were only two guests plus our guide, but he really made an effort and created a fantastic experience. I had the best time ever. Delicious drinks, super cool locations, and a fun mix of street art and local history along the way. What’s not to love?
