I am so happy that we decided to start our vacation with this tour. The team was amazing from the booking process to the actual tour. Justin made sure that we were accommodated even with travel changes and Dan our tour guide was amazing. The tour was tailored to fit our needs even as the weather did not cooperate fully Dan was able to pivot and made sure we had a good time.

Such a fantastic tour, you often walk the streets of Newtown and get distracted by the sounds and buzz; but this tour really allowed us to stop and see the beauty of all the artwork and history through the streets of Newtown.
A big thank you to our guide Melinda; she has a deep love and appreciation for the art and history of Newtown – not to mention some great little food spots along the way! Highly recommend. Value for money!

We loved our Chinatown tour with Justin today! Such great spots to visit that we wouldn’t have known about otherwise and very yummy food. The history was so interesting to hear about and our young daughter also enjoyed being immersed in such wonderful culture. We will be back for another tour very soon! Thankyou Justin.

What I liked most about the tour was Steve. He was prompt, knowledgeable (even when asked obscure questions), clever (seriously, a bottomless pit of ‘dad jokes’ about tour topics, psychology, History, maths, or just whatever conversation popped up), engaging, and entertaining. His suggestions for food, additional sources for information, etc were spot on. His impressions are top notch, sense of humor delightful, insight into regional/national/international Aussie views are historically based and hilarious (everyone are rivals and also get along).

I highly recommend Local Sauce in general (we took a tour with Justin as well in Chinatown), but especially if you want the nitty gritty regarding all things Sydney because Steve will not disappoint!

We did the Secret Bars and Stories Tour with Jake and had an awesome time! Jake was super friendly and made us feel welcome straight away. He took us to some great bars with lots of character, and we had such a fun night. Really glad we booked this tour—highly recommend it!

The tour was brilliant and covered a lot. Our tour guide, Daniel, had a plethora of knowledge, was an interactive tour guide and a genuinely pleasant guy. It was a relaxed tour, and the coffee and toilet break was a nice touch.

Steve is a wonderful and knowledgeable guide. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and even though I have been in Australia for many years I learnt lots.

The Newtown Food & Street Art Small Group Tour led by Andrew was amazing! There were 5 of us guests total in the group, which was perfect for a casual and fun experience. Andrew knew so much about the local art and cuisine in Newton and we really felt like we got a sense of the culture of the area. I would definitely recommend this tour for visitors in Sydney. We had an awesome time on the Newtown Chewtown tour with our guide Andrew. It was so cool to see the incredible diversity in street art and learn about its culture and the history behind some of the pieces. All the food spots that we stopped at were delicious, and we got a lot of good recommendations for spots we didn’t stop at. I’d suggest taking the tour on the earlier end of your trip if you’re traveling so you have a chance to go take advantage of some of the recommendations you get on the tour!

Our tour guide, Jake, was the best! He made sure no one was left behind and also engaged with everyone in the group. History might not be everyone’s favorite but he made sure to keep it light but still relatable. The length of the tour was enough for us to see important places in Sydney.

Steve led out merry misfit band to some super interesting places for amazing cocktails and stories. He really showed us a side of Sydney that we could never have found on our own!

This was an amazing time for our group of all ages. We had twenty to sixty year olds having fun along with our incredible host Daniel! I really enjoyed the local spots we visited and Daniel gave us some brief history along the way which was great. I will be coming back!!

We had a fantastic time on the Newtown Street Art and Food Tour! Daniel, our guide, had a great personality that made the tour fun and engaging. We learned about the history of Newtown, its vibrant street art culture, and the many artists whose work decorates the area. A bonus highlight was the stops at several local eateries, where we enjoyed some truly delicious bites. We also met some really interesting people on the tour, which added to the overall experience and made it even more enjoyable.

This was one of the best food tours I had done. I chose it because my other food tours had cancelled, but I was more than pleasantly surprised and was glad I got the chance to do this one instead. I had plenty of food and learned a lot about the local history of Sydney’s Chinatown, and really enjoyed the entire thing. Our guide also gave us all suggestions of other places to try after the 5 or 6 spots we had gone to. I can’t stop thinking about the lamb dish we tried – it was amazing! Thank you!

Fascinating tour with excellent host providing a great insight into Newtown’s food scene, breweries and street art, the latter proving a lot more interesting than I expected!I have joined several Local Sauce tours in Sydney plus one in Brisbane and all have been 5-star experiences covering aspects that I would have missed as an independent traveler.

Dan was a fabulous guide. The history and stories were all so interesting and the hidden bar scene was incredible. All good locations. Would definitely recommend

We had the best time with Justin in Newtown! He is incredibly knowledgeable of the area, and we were amazed at the variety and volume of restaurants and bars he pointed out and knew the history of.
It was really nice to have him as our guide because he already knew most of the bartenders and owners, which made the evening feel so personable.
We couldn’t recommend this enough, and would go on more of his tours if only we lived closer than Missouri, USA!
Also, the Turkish ice cream was the perfect way to end the night!

Such a fun night! Met some great people and got to enjoy some cool pubs that I otherwise probably wouldn’t have known about. The tour guide was excellent – told some interesting stories and even more importantly made everyone feel welcome and included, kudos to him! Highly recommend.

We had the joy of having the day tour as well as night tour. It was spaced out brilliant and had hours of the day before the night tour I highly recommend doing both and seeing a different place each time. We were thinking we may be going over things we done during the day but absolutely not! We were lucky to have Dan again and he had even more new stories and interesting facts about a few places we walked passed and it was such a different tour with amazing choices of bars. Again Dan giving so much information about the locals and depth of the bars speciality it was so great. No doubt in our minds we wouldn’t have reached half of the places in 2 days in what we achieved at both tours. Another good way to meeting new people also it had great energy. Truly big up to Dan from myself and my husband he truly made our day and night tours so fun and left us wanting more stories! Only good can come from the booking, worth it!

It was fantastic we were a small group which was amazing!! True reason of it being so great and fulfilled was because of our guide Dan. Dan was a joy to listen to he was so full of enthusiasm and genuine intent of chatting about the history of Sydney and you could really be involved in his stories around the city. He was the perfect energy for learning from him. His attentiveness while we were asking questions and no language barrier at all he was patient and courtesous. Took the good and silly questions, answered them all and he was a delight to share the day with. So much for respect for Dan. The tour itself was great, great layout to see the city. We only had 2 full days and we booked this seeing SO MUCH it absolutely had us fulfilled in seeing the city short or long time. Dan was so helpful as we went around the city on what we may find interesting in the areas and food and drinks places after we asked for what suited us. So helpful. Tour is a great way to see and learn!

My tour was very good. Nicole was enthusiastic, friendly and engaging, immediately putting everyone at ease. She was knowledgeable about the areas we walked through and offered other activities we could participate in those areas , like the city markets which only locals would know. She was not rigid about time but allowed us to make the odd purchase and introduced us to Noosa chocolate by buying us a treat. The walk was unhurried and finished at a lovely bar overlooking the river. I would highly recommend the tour.

Melinda was a fantastic guide. Fun and knowledgeable and highly recommend. The tour around Newtown was informative and Melinda made the experience fun with the combination of food and drink. The tacos, pie, ice cream and falafel hit the spot and ended up in a cool brewery to finish. Great way to spend an afternoon.

Justin was great. Excellent knowledge base. Very friendly. The amount of food and the location of the stops were excellent. Timed perfectly. He even had laminated photos and documents to share about the Chinese history in Australia and Sydney. We recommend whole heartedly.

Daniel was a great guide, very engaging and knowledgeable. We are not massive art fans but wanted something a bit different- Daniel was enthusiastic and made the tour very interesting for us. The food/drink stops were very good too. Daniel went above and beyond at the end of the tour by escorting us to the bus stop and advising us what bus we should get and when to get off which was very much appreciated. Thanks
