- Curious2134455962108/09/2025Great Guide Leads To Memorable Tour We really enjoyed our walking tour of Sydney with our guide, Steve. He was an experienced guide having worked in Berlin, Germany in the past. His knowledge of Sydney and experience as a guide led to a fantastic experience for all of us on the tour. Not only did he have an excellent grasp of Sydney’s history, he encouraged us to ask questions even if they were not related to the narrative he was telling us on the tour. I would highly recommend Steve as a tour guide for anyone interested in learning more about Sydney’s colorful history.read moreread less
- Jessica Stoey06/09/2025I heard about Local Sauce through another tour guide and thought I would check it out. I Attended the pub/bar tour with Jake! He was so welcoming and definitely knew how to keep the group engaged especially the solo travelers. He provided great suggestions for post tour as well and took us through a few unique spots as we walked that I otherwise would have not noticed. I will gladly recommend this tour to anyone I know coming to Sydney, read moreread lessBrenda B06/09/2025Hidden gems in Sydney by Justin Wow! What a worthwhile walking tour! - Sherry R05/09/2025Engaging, Fun, and Informative – Highly Recommend Jake’s Sydney Tour While planning my trip to Sydney for the marathon, I ended up with a free Saturday morning after some plans changed. I came across this tour on TripAdvisor and was immediately intrigued. The description mentioned just a few miles of walking—which turned out to be very easy and enjoyable. Our guide, Jake, was fantastic. He had a great sense of humor and kept us engaged the entire time with stories about Sydney’s history, pointing out unique sights along the way. His mix of knowledge and humor made this one of my favorite experiences in Sydney.Communication before the tour was excellent—they sent confirmations through email and WhatsApp, along with directions and even a photo of the meeting spot so we wouldn’t get lost.During the walk, Jake brought the city to life, sharing fascinating details about historical buildings, flower gardens, the significance of brick patterns on the ground, and even the famous alleyway filled with empty bird cages. He welcomed questions and always had extra bits of history to add, which made the tour even more engaging.Jake is an exceptional guide, and I highly recommend this tour as a fun, leisurely, and entertaining way to spend a few hours learning about Sydney right from its streets.read moreread less
- Susan03/09/2025I have to say that I rarely give anything less than a 5 but I was disappointed with this tour. We basically walked up and down a long block to 3 different bars and looked at street art (which was really cool). The reason I was disappointed is because other than whien we were walking, our host didn’t have much to say. I expected to learn something about Sydney but other than the street art, that didn’t happen. That being said, he was a nice person, just didn’t seem like he was into the experience. Also, while it did include a happy hour beer or glass of generic red or white wine, given we just walked around Newtown without learning much it would have been a little better to at least get a choice of drink. Also, 2 of the 3 bars seemed randomly chosen and they didn’t have places set aside for our group of 8. Perhaps that’s just how it works but overall I was somewhat disappointed.read moreread less

- Ragan Crowell26/08/2025We had a great food tour with Justin! The meeting point was convenient and easy to find, and since we did the tour on our arrival day from the US, it was the perfect way to stretch our legs and get acclimated to the area.
We sampled so many Australian staples — flat white, Vegemite toast, meat pies, Anzac biscuits, toasties, Aboriginal cuisine, and even an Instagram-worthy cake. The pace was just right, with enough walking and food to fight the jet lag. We left full but never uncomfortably stuffed.
Justin also shared history about Sydney and Australia along the way, which made the experience even richer. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting!read moreread less - Katherine Duncan20/08/2025Michael was an excellent guide on a wonderful tour! - J. M.19/08/2025We did the Chinatown walking food tour with Justin. We booked directly with the company as it was a better deal than booking through a 3rd party website. We really enjoyed the tour – we tried several snacks in Chinatown from restaurants we would not have found on our own. The food was wonderful, and Justin was informative and entertaining as he shared the history of Chinatown. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour! I wish we had done the tour earlier in our trip so we had more time to explore Justin’s list of recommended reatarants. - john p28/08/2025My adult son and I did this tour with Justin with 4 other people. The small number meant we had a great time with personalised input and suggestions. It was a perfect way to be introduced to Sydney on our first full morning. It lasted about 3 hours and despite a bit of rain now and again it was a great experience. Very informative, educational and entertaining. We even saw a kookaburra fly right past us! Great way to end at a brewery with fine views of the harbour. Justin recommended where my son could eat kangaroo and he directed us to a pub in The Rocks and it was a great choice. Take the opportunity to go with this more intimate group, much better than being part of 20-odd people.read moreread less

- GetYourGuide traveler07/08/2025Saskia was an absolutely outstanding guide! She expertly led our small group through Brisbane’s fascinating historic sites while also having a keen eye for the city’s impressive artwork. Her knowledge was comprehensive and her enthusiasm infectious. What really set her apart was going the extra mile at the end of our tour – she provided us with excellent additional recommendations for places to visit during our stay. This tour exceeded all my expectations and covered everything I could have imagined wanting to see in Brisbane. Saskia’s expertise and genuine passion for the city made this an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended!read moreread less
- Alena09/07/2025You would never guess this typical looking australian – long blond hair young surfer dude in wide jeans – has a degree in colonial history, deep knowledge, respect & passion for his country that is very contagious & makes it a fantastic tour! It was spaced out brilliant and had hours of the day before the night tour I highly recommend doing both and seeing a different place each time. We were thinking we may be going over things we done during the day but absolutely not! We were lucky to have Dan again and he had even more new stories and interesting facts about a few places we walked passed and it was such a different tour with amazing choices of bars. Again Dan giving so much information about the locals and depth of the bars speciality it was so great. No doubt in our minds we wouldn’t have reached half of the places in 2 days in what we achieved at both tours. Another good way to meeting new people also it had great energy. Truly big up to Dan from myself and my husband he truly made our day and night tours so fun and left us wanting more stories! Only good can come from the booking, worth it!read moreread less
- Pamela29/06/2025It was fantastic we were a small group which was amazing!! True reason of it being so great and fulfilled was because of our guide Dan. Dan was a joy to listen to he was so full of enthusiasm and genuine intent of chatting about the history of Sydney and you could really be involved in his stories around the city. He was the perfect energy for learning from him. His attentiveness while we were asking questions and no language barrier at all he was patient and courtesous. Took the good and silly questions, answered them all and he was a delight to share the day with. So much for respect for Dan. The tour itself was great, great layout to see the city. We only had 2 full days and we booked this seeing SO MUCH it absolutely had us fulfilled in seeing the city short or long time. Dan was so helpful as we went around the city on what we may find interesting in the areas and food and drinks places after we asked for what suited us. So helpful. Tour is a great way to see and learn!read moreread lessGetYourGuide traveler27/06/2025What I liked most about the tour was Steve. He was prompt, knowledgeable (even when asked obscure questions), clever (seriously, a bottomless pit of ‘dad jokes’ about tour topics, psychology, History, maths, or just whatever conversation popped up), engaging, and entertaining. His suggestions for food, additional sources for information, etc were spot on. His impressions are top notch, sense of humor delightful, insight into regional/national/international Aussie views are historically based and hilarious (everyone are rivals and also get along). I highly recommend Local Sauce in general (we took a tour with Justin as well in Chinatown), but especially if you want the nitty gritty regarding all things Sydney because Steve will not disappoint!read moreread lessPreedashini24/06/2025My tour was very good. Nicole was enthusiastic, friendly and engaging, immediately putting everyone at ease. She was knowledgeable about the areas we walked through and offered other activities we could participate in those areas , like the city markets which only locals would know. She was not rigid about time but allowed us to make the odd purchase and introduced us to Noosa chocolate by buying us a treat. The walk was unhurried and finished at a lovely bar overlooking the river. I would highly recommend the tour.read moreread less
