What you’ll do
On this family-friendly experience, you’ll discover some of Newtown’s best street art, while any kids will be kept entertained with delicious ice cream samples from local businesses.
Starting in a park close to Newtown’s main street, your host will give a brief introduction to what types of street art there are and the stories they tell. You’ll then set off on a 5-minute walk past beautiful old houses to your first ice cream stop. To start your ice cream adventure, we’re transporting you to Italy, with a scoop of super creamy gelato. We cater for all dietary requirements – please let us know if you have any when booking.
You’ll then explore the backstreets of Newtown with your guide weaving in entertaining stories behind the colourful street art. A second dessert stop is provided near a park, with a gourmet take on an Aussie classic. You’ll have a short break, and kids can draw their own street art (pencils & paper provided) or have a quick play at the nearby playground.
Continuing your street art journey, you’ll re-join the main road, with a few more pieces of art to discover before finishing with another scoop of ice cream – this time, we’re heading to Turkey. Anyone with a sweet tooth is going to love this place!
This is where your experience ends, but your host can recommend one more ice cream stop if you’re still hungry!

Tour details
Perfect for: Families, children and anyone with a sweet tooth.
Group size: 4 – 12 people. Minimum of 4 people required for tour to proceed at the regular price.
Age range: All ages are welcome on this tour. The content and activities in this tour is are appropriate for children from the age of 4 to 15. Children under 4 are free of charge. Children over 15 are also welcome and we can adapt the content to suit. We walk about 1.5 km at a relaxed pace on a mostly flat route. The route is also pram/stroller friendly. Please note all children must be accompanied by a paying adult/guardian.
Tour length: 2 hours.
Price: 55 AUD per person (same price for children and adults).
Start location: We meet in Hollis Park, near the playground towards the corner of Georgina St and Warren Ball Ave.
End location: We finish at “Hakiki Turkish Ice Cream” on Enmore Rd. From here, it is a 5 minute walk to Newtown train station or a 1 km walk back to Hollis Park.
